Robert Nordlof

Robert Donald Nordlof, 64, of Lincoln City, Ore., died Jan 19, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital in Portland, Ore., Born Sept. 18, 1950, in Baudette, Minn., he was an Air Force veteran, an independent dairy farmer, master electrician, welder, owned a building inspection business and was member of the Wisconsin Lublin Legion Post 547.

A celebration of life will begin at noon May 15 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery, luncheon follows in Kainaliu.

He is survived by wife, Sandra Lamb of Lincoln City, Ore.; daughter, Audrey Nordlof of Portland, Ore.; son, Kristopher Nordlof of Owen, Wis.; stepsons, Rueben Lenz of Ft. Knox, Ky., Gavin Lamb of Honolulu; mother, Muriel Nordlof of Captain Cook; brother, Michael Nordlof of Captain Cook; sisters, Susan (Bill) Devine of Owen, Wis., Jayne (Bob) Gay of Waupaca, Wis.; four granddaughters; numerous aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Ah Lan Hiro

Ah Lan Kealaonona Hiro, 79, of Hilo died April 27, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was the founder of Ah Lan’s Lei Stand and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may at 9 a.m. May 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Alae Cemetery. A celebration of her life will follow from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Hiro residence, 263 Lama St., Hilo. Family requests aloha attire be worn.

She is survived by companion, Clyde Eborn of Mountain View; sons, Theodore Hiro Jr. and Dominic Hiro, both of Hilo, Christian (Cristina) Hiro of Kona; daughters, Ramona (Kiki) McKelvy of Los Osos, Calif., Lana (Hans) Haasenritter of Keaau, Theodora Hiro, Luana Gomes of Hilo and Elena (Dean) Nagamine, all of Hilo; brother, Archie Viela of Oahu; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nepehws.

Jolyn Fergerstrom

Jolyn “Jo” Pagasa Fergerstrom, 42, of Hilo died April 27, 2015, at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, she was an owner and real estate appraiser for Hawaii Island Appraiser LLC and member of the Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church, Hawaii Information Service and American Health Information Management Association.

Friends may visit at 6 p.m. May 20 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may call again at 9 a.m. May 21 at Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park Ilima Section. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, Vernon Fergerstrom of Hilo; mother, Elisa Nerida of Hilo; brother, Melvin (Melissa) Nerida of Hilo; sister, Sally (Gilbert) Pimentel of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
